The Hartwycks offer a nurturing environment that is focused on comfort and the emotional well being of residents. Together, the Hartwycks provide more than 600 long-term care beds for traditional nursing home care, sub acute and medical rehabilitation care, medical day care, respite care, among other essential services. Specialized programs and services include adult medical day care, Alzheimers medical day care, and long-term coma management care, as well as units dedicated to the care of patients on ventilators and those with Huntington's Disease and brain injury.
The Regional Cancer Center is committed to providing high quality care for people with cancer. The Center offers all the services needed to effectively identify and treat cancer, including state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment, surgery, medical oncology, radiation therapy, investigational trials, stereotactic radiosurgery, nursing care, counseling, nutritional support, discharge planning, outpatient services and hospice care.
Our cancer patients benefit from a team approach to treatment, which involves a wide array of specially trained professionals. Depending on the particular type of cancer and the circumstances surrounding the case, the patient's primary care physician may be assisted by a number of physicians from various specialties, including pathologists, oncologists, neuro-oncologists, surgeons, hematologists, radiologists and radiation oncologists. These physicians, in turn, are supported by registered nurses, radiation therapists, pharmacy personnel, dietitians, counselors and licensed social workers.
The Regional Cancer Center consists of two medical centers, JFK Medical Center and Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center, both of which are accredited by the American College of Surgeons. Because of the comprehensive services available, the need for patients and their familiees to travel out of central New Jersey for state-of-the-art cancer treatment is eliminated. Patients and families can take comfort in knowing they will receive advanced technical treatments from caring experts close to home.
Mediplex Surgery Center is an outpatient surgery center that offers a variety of same-day procedures, including laser, endoscopic and arthroscopic surgery. A free-standing facility for same-day surgery, the Mediplex Surgery Center is located at 98 James Street.
