The Center for Behavioral Health provides comprehensive outpatient diagnostic and counseling services for individuals suffering from substance abuse, emotional problems, family issues, lifestyle distress, and developmental and chronic mental health problems. It has served the community for more than 25 years.

The Center is licensed by the New Jersey Department of Health, Division of Mental Health and Hospitals, and the Division of Addiction Services; it is also reviewed independently as a specialty department by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. The Center is staffed by licensed physicians trained and experienced in addiction medicine and psychiatry; licensed mental health professionals, including psychologists and clinical social workers; and state- and nationally- certified addiction specialists. Therapy is provided to patients and families in individual and group settings and includes medical and behavioral evaluation and treatment, detoxification and withdrawal management, 12-step self-help meetings, and directly observed therapy substance abuse services.
Our "Steps" program is an outpatient substance treatment center located at our JFK - Muhlenberg site that provides an array of outpatient substance abuse services. These services include an intensive outpatient program, IDRC (intoxicated driver resource center) as well as after care groups.
