Licensed physical therapists serve patients in various units throughout the Medical Center: cardiac, coronary care, general medical/surgical, neurological, geriatric, intermediate care, long-term pulmonary, oncologic, orthopedic, pediatric, postpartum and surgical care. Physical therapy is designed to help patients achieve maximum strength, coordination, balance, and mobility and, available at the bedside and decentralized therapy gym. Physical therapy includes evaluation/preoperative instruction for total knee and total hip replacement patients, as well as crutch instruction for patients from the Day Accommodations Center and Surgicenter.
