Haven Hospice
JFK Medical Center
65 James Street, Edison

Hours of Operation:
The Haven Hospice team manages the care of the hospice patients in the home, inpatient, and long-term care setting 24 hours each, 365 days per year.

Haven Hospice provides medical, emotional, psychological and spiritual support for patients and families who are experiencing life threatening illness. Among the most comprehensive hospice programs in New Jersey, Haven provides services to patients in the comfort of their own home, in the Mary Ann Hale Inpatient Pavilion, and in long-term care settings. The interdisciplinary hospice team is comprised of physicians, nurses, physical and occupational therapists, social workers, counselors, volunteers and clergy. The team manages the patient's physical and spiritual pain, and offers instruction, guidance, and support to family members, significant others, and caregivers. Home health aides provide assistance in personal care, such as bathing, grooming and dressing.

Several support programs are available for hospice patients, their families, and members of the community. We offer support groups for those coping with illness and loss. For example The Haven Hospice Children's Program focuses on the emotional needs of children, ages three to 21 who are coping with an illness or the loss of a loved one. Bereavement support groups are available to spouses and other family members.

Haven Hospice is open to individuals of all ages who reside in Middlesex, Union, Somerset, and portions of Essex and Monmouth counties. Referrals are received from JFK Medical Center, surrounding hospitals, physicians’ offices, and from patients and families seeking services.

Most private insurance plans, Medicare, and Medicaid typically provide coverage. Additionally, funds may be available to patients without insurance or the financial means to receive care. No one is denied services because of inability to pay.
