The Family Medicine Residency Program at JFK Medical Center has maintained it’s tradition of excellence in teaching since 1976. The program seeks residents committed to their education and provides the atmosphere and opportunities where this commitment can be nurtured and grow.

The JFK Family Medicine Residency Program is affiliated with the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ) - Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. The residency program is active in the teaching of core rotations in family medicine to students from UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson and other New Jersey Medical Schools, and it provides elective opportunities for students from an asundry of medical schools.

The Family Medicine Residency Program is the only primary care residency at JFK Medical Center so there is no competition for patients or procedures. Family Medicine residents have the opportunity to interact with residents from the Neurology and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation residencies at the medical center. There are comprehensive ancillary services in the hospital to ensure that residents are not overburdened with "scut work," providing adequate time for patient care and learning.
