Community Benefits Report

With a mission and commitment to provide quality and compassionate healthcare to our diverse communities, JFK Health System continually extends the reach of our not-for-profit organization directly into our local communities – well beyond the provision of medical, rehabilitation and long-term care. Together, our physicians, nurses, therapists, employees, auxilians and volunteers go above and beyond to work collaboratively with area residents and organizations to create healthier lifestyles.

During 2009, JFK Health System provided more than $126 million in community benefits for thousands of individuals in Central New Jersey. While not every benefit we provide can be measured monetarily, this report provides a brief summary of the scope and magnitude of services we subsidize or provide to the community without reimbursement. These services and programs underscore the vital role that JFK Medical Center, the JFK Hartwyck Rehabilitation & Convalescent Centers, the JFK Johnson Rehabilitation Institute and all our affiliates fill in our community.

We have been an integral part of this community for decades, providing healthcare services and so much more. One only has to turn the pages here to see a visual representation of what we bring to our community, from medical and dental services for the uninsured and underinsured, to health education and awareness programs, support groups, emergency preparedness training and community outreach. JFK is clearly focused on our Mission to provide quality and compassionate healthcare services to our many and diverse communities.

We also have a strong history of working closely with other community organizations to maximize the impact of our community outreach efforts. We are extraordinarily fortunate to have so many outstanding partners in serving area residents and look forward to our continued collaboration in making our communities healthier places to live and work.
